First Nations Health Secretariat Seeking Local Art for 2026 Annual Report - AI Generated Image
First Nations artists in Manitoba are being invited to showcase their talent on a provincial stage, as the First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba (FNHSSM) opens a call for submissions for its upcoming annual report.
According to a notice released yesterday, Tuesday, January 13, 2026, the organization is looking for original paintings to feature on the cover of its annual report and at its next Annual General Meeting.
No Digital Art, Canvas Only: The call is specific: organizers are looking for paintings only (no digital artwork). Submissions can be new or existing works, but the original piece must be 24 x 36 inches in size.
While the theme of the upcoming AGM is “From Vision to Action: Improving Our First Nations Health Together,” artists are free to submit work that does not strictly adhere to this topic.
Paid Opportunity: This is a compensated opportunity. The FNHSSM states that compensation will be provided for selected artwork, as the organization intends to purchase the original piece and retain the rights to create prints for gifting.
Tight Deadline: Artists need to act fast. The deadline for submissions is Noon on Monday, January 19, 2026.
To apply, artists should email a high-quality photo of their work, along with an artist bio and contact information, to info@fnhssm.com. Selected artists will be contacted by January 21.
