Manitoba Crime Stoppers continues to highlight several long-standing missing person cases connected to Thompson, MB, and surrounding northern communities. These cases remain open, and the RCMP is asking the public to come forward with any information that may help locate the individuals involved. All tips can be submitted anonymously.

Below is a summary of the four cases currently featured.

Larry John Duck — Missing Since April 2011

• Age at time of disappearance: 33
• From: Tadoule Lake, Manitoba
• Last seen: April 6, 2011, in Winnipeg
• Description:
  • Height: 185 cm
  • Weight: 82 kg

Larry Duck was last seen on or about April 6, 2011, in Winnipeg. His family has not heard from him since and remain concerned for his wellbeing.

Abraham Vincent Flett — Missing Since August 2012

• Age at time of disappearance: 46
• From: Split Lake, Manitoba
• Last seen: August 2012 in Thompson
• Description:
  • Height: approx. 5’5”
  • Hair: Black
  • Eyes: Brown
  • Notable details: Walks with a limp (right leg); numerous burn marks on his back and left arm

The RCMP received a complaint regarding Flett’s disappearance in October 2012. Family members last saw him in Thompson earlier that summer.

Yvon “Shawn” Guignard — Missing Since November 2015

• Age at time of disappearance: 35
• From: Northern Manitoba, recently living in Thompson
• Last seen: November 28, 2015, around 6:45 a.m. in Thompson
• Description:
  • Height: 185 cm
  • Build: Slender
  • Hair: Blond
  • Eyes: Blue

Guignard had been living a transient lifestyle in Thompson at the time of his disappearance. His personal vehicle—left behind—was located when he was reported missing. Police note that he has a medical condition and may be in distress.

Douglas Jona Bighetty — Missing Since September 2009

• Age at time of disappearance: 34
• From: Nelson House, Manitoba
• Last seen: September 26, 2009, hunting at East Manarsky Lake

Bighetty was reported missing the following day, on September 27, 2009. He had been hunting in the area prior to his disappearance.
