New Support Group for Parents of Teens Launches Tonight in Thompson - AI Generated Image
Parents navigating the often turbulent teenage years have a new resource for connection and professional guidance starting this evening.
The Boys and Girls Club of Thompson has partnered with R.D. Parker Collegiate to launch “Parents Together,” an ongoing support initiative. The inaugural session of this new group kicks off tonight, Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
A Safe Space for Discussion Designed specifically for parents and guardians of teenagers, the group aims to provide a welcoming environment for conversation, connection, and practical support. Organizers acknowledge that parenting teens is rarely easy and emphasize that caregivers do not have to handle the challenges of school and adolescence alone.
To ensure quality discussion and valuable takeaways, the sessions will be facilitated by a School Clinician from R.D. Parker Collegiate. This facilitator brings professional insight and direct experience working with local youth and their families.
Meeting Details The group is currently looking to build a core attendance of 6 to 15 participants. The meeting will take place at the BGC Thompson facility, located at 365 Thompson Drive North. Attendees can also look forward to a variety of complimentary refreshments provided by the hosts.
