Thompson’s high school will serve as a gathering place for tradition and healing tonight as it hosts a community Full Moon Ceremony.

R.D. Parker Collegiate (RDPC) is set to host a Full Moon Ceremony & Feast this evening, Monday, February 2, 2026. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the high school.

Located on Treaty 5 land, RDPC is a central hub for the region’s students, making it a fitting venue for this significant cultural event. While the listing for the ceremony was noted on the Burntwood Elementary calendar, the event itself will take place at the collegiate.

Full Moon Ceremonies are traditional Indigenous gatherings often held to honor Grandmother Moon and facilitate healing and reflection. These ceremonies are viewed as a sacred time to connect with relations, the land, and creation, often emphasizing the role of women and the sacred feminine.
