Thompson Public Works Responding to Water Break and Road Closure October 2 - AI Generated Image
City crews are busy today with infrastructure work that will affect residents in two areas of Thompson.
Public Works is repairing a water break near 51 Lynx Crescent. Road access in the immediate area is closed while repairs are underway, and nearby residents are experiencing temporary disruptions to water service. The city noted that because this was an unscheduled break, no advance notice of the shutoff could be provided.
At the same time, Princeton Drive is closed between Purdue Avenue and the northern intersection with Stanford Bay as part of the city’s 2025 Water and Sewer Renewal project. Local traffic will be permitted within the closed section, but the Princeton Drive/Stanford Bay intersection itself is closed to all vehicles. The closure is expected to last until the end of the workday.
Residents with questions about the water break can contact Public Works at 204-677-7970. For more details on the Princeton Drive renewal project, contact Development & Technical Services at 204-677-7922 or visit the City of Thompson’s website.
