Thompson Road Closures – June 18

The City of Thompson has announced upcoming temporary road closures as part of ongoing water and sewer renewal projects. Residents are advised to prepare for disruptions and consider alternative routes to minimize inconvenience.

Starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, Station Road will be closed between Nelson Road and Princeton Drive, as well as from Princeton Drive to Brandon Crescent. The intersection of Princeton Drive and Station Road will remain open for traffic travelling along Princeton Drive. This closure is scheduled to continue through the end of the workday on Sunday, June 22. Motorists should detour around these closures using Brandon Crescent, Purdue Avenue, Princeton Drive, Waterloo Avenue, and Nelson Road.

Additionally, a section of Dominion Bay will be temporarily closed at the southeast corner beginning Wednesday, June 18. This closure is expected to last until the end of the workday. Residents in the affected area are asked to move vehicles from driveways and park them on nearby streets ahead of the commencement of work.

Residents and commuters in Thompson should anticipate traffic delays due to ongoing curb and sidewalk installation work on Centennial Drive East. The City of Thompson announced that construction preparations are scheduled to begin at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, continuing through Friday, June 20.

The construction crew will commence work at Cedar Street and move eastward around the loop. During this period, residents should expect their driveways to be temporarily inaccessible for short intervals. Traffic will be permitted through the construction zone under the direction of flaggers.
