Manitoba Government Completes 23 Summer Infrastructure Projects, Including Upgrades in Thompson - AI Generated Image
The Manitoba government has completed 23 major infrastructure projects across the province this summer, improving more than 200 kilometres of highways. Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Lisa Naylor announced the completion of the $230 million in upgrades on 4 November, noting that the work enhances safety, accessibility, and economic growth throughout Manitoba.
Among the completed projects is an intersection improvement at Provincial Trunk Highway (PTH) 633 and PR 391 in Thompson, strengthening local road safety and access for northern residents. Other projects include highway rehabilitations, bridge replacements, and intersection upgrades spanning from Woodridge in the east to Birtle in the west, and as far north as Split Lake.
“These investments mark our continued commitment to building stronger, safer communities,” said Naylor. “Improved roads and bridges are about more than just construction—they’re about connecting Manitobans and supporting local economies.”
The projects, completed by October 2025, are part of Manitoba’s Multi-year Infrastructure Investment Strategy, which prioritises key road, bridge, and flood-protection improvements across the province.
